Recommended apps

Prefer to use an app to chart your cycle using your chosen Fertility Awareness-Based Method (FABM)?

Here’s the KEY thing you need to stay aware of:

Apps should never replace your own human knowledge and the rules of your chosen FABM.

Think of apps as simply a “digital paper chart” or a place to store your mucus and temperature observations.

Nothing more, nothing less!

This is one of the main reasons that I recommend the below two apps – they don’t provide fertility predicitions!

App fertility predictions are notoriously inaccurate.

This is an issue whether you are trying for a baby or wanting natural birth control.

Always refer to the rules of your chosen FABM over any app predictions.

Check with your FABM instructor or method manual if you are unsure.

PS: Concerned about data privacy? Choose an app that does not store your data.

The Read Your Body app is my go-to recommendation for all Fertility Awareness-Based Method charters.

The Read Your Body app is available for a modest annual subscription fee.

To my knowledge, it remains the most customisable option available and meets the needs of almost every possible Fertility Awareness-Based Method.

No fertility predictions are provided.

Use the Read Your Body app as a “digital paper chart” on your phone.

Data privacy: Data is stored on your phone only. Read Your Body do offer optional back-up accounts but this data is fully encrypted (meaning that Read Your Body app can never see, share, sell or do anything else with it).

If you don’t choose to utilise the optional data back-up service, be sure to download each new chart to ensure you never lose your data.

Available on both iOS and Android.
